on 29th July, around 12.30am i arrived at Gatwick airport to wait for the rest of team to arrive, Andy came a little before 1pm and soon the rest of the team followed either with their families on their own. at 2.50pm we started to check in for our flight to Madrid with Aire Europa, which took long time but thankfully they were all checked in despite some of us had some extra weight, including mine which was 24kg!!
after we had said our final good byes, peep talk by one of the Latin Link staff and prayers, we went through the secruity check into departure lounge. our team leader, Zach went off to meet Ali, whose flying from scotland. we waited for awhile and we went to board the flight for Madrid. the flight to Madrid was uneventful, we didn´t have any problems in going through the police check and security to the departure lounge to wait for our connection flight to Buenos Aires (3hrs of waiting though!!)
during 3hrs of waiting, we started to bond as a team, just generally passing time and stretching our legs before the long flight. around 12.05am (30.07.09), we boarded the flight for Buenos Aires, we were all seated in different parts of the planes but fortunately for me i was seated close to Rachel and Obioma!! despite me being an experieneced flyer, i´ve completely forgotten how long the flight is, how uncomfortable the seats are and how freezing cold the plane was going to be. thankfully though i was able to watch a in flight movie, listen to music and grab some sleep cos when i arrived in Buenos Aires i was totally shattered!!
we arrived quite early at 8.00am in argentian time, we all got through the police checks, security checks without any problems and our bags arrived all in one piece despite nearly all of us didn´t put any luggage labels!! Praise the Lord!
Dany Lescano and his wife met us at the airport, they took us to Barrio Del Viso, where our project is based for nxt 4 weeks. when we arrived at Iglesia Fuego de Dios, we were greeted by a welcoming party consisting of Partora Eva, her son Pastor Samuel and some of the people from the church. soon we were all in the flurry of hugs and kisses (Argentian way of greeting each other) and unloading mountains of luggage from the mini bus into the church. we all sat in the circle, we (the team) intorduced ourselves and the Pastora Eva welcomed us with an emotional speech. after lunch dany started the first half of the orientation by having us telling a little bit of ourselves. on 31 st July we finished the second half of the orientation with Dany Strider Gemma, then we were all went to Del Viso town, where Pastor Samuel and Dany showed us where we can buy food, bank is and cafe internet and then we all relaxed!!
thank u for praying for me and the team, i trust that u´re all keeping well and having a great summer!! i will do my nxt installment of my trip when i´m on domestic duty or if i´m free.
am looking forward to hearing froom u all and God Bless =)
